Privacy Policy
Effective 27 October 2026
Viking Battles ("we", "us") makes the Viking Battles game and runs this website. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, and how you can have it deleted.
What we collect
Your game account
The first time you open the game, our server creates a guest account for you. It holds:
- an account id and a sign-in secret that stays on your device. Our server keeps the secret only as a hash;
- your player name: the guest name we give you, or one you choose;
- your progress: runs, battles, buildings, cards and deck, league and rating, career counts, campaign progress, and settings such as your time zone, which sets when your daily pack resets.
Ghosts
When you press Fight, a snapshot of your village is saved as a ghost. Other players fight it and see it under your player name. Ghosts and battle records are deleted after 7 days.
Connection data
Our game server logs your IP address, app version, your account id and when you play, to keep the game running, stop abuse and see how the game is played.
Analytics and crash reports
Some versions of the game use Google's Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to count how features are used and to report crashes. They collect details about your device and app, such as the device model, operating system version and an app instance id. Google handles this data under its own privacy policy.
Messages you send us
When you write to us through the contact form, we receive your email address, any name and player name you give, your message, your IP address and your browser's name.
This website
The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or ads. Our server logs requests (IP address, page and browser) for security.
We don't collect your real name, contacts, location or payment details, we show no ads, and we never sell your data.
Why we use it
- To run the game: sign you in, save your progress, match you against other players' ghosts and show your name to your opponents.
- To keep the game fair and safe: stop cheating, automated play and attacks on our servers.
- To make the game better: see which features are used and fix crashes.
- To answer you when you write to us.
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, our legal bases are the agreement between us to provide the game, our legitimate interest in keeping it secure and improving it, and your consent where the law asks for it.
Who handles it for us
- Google Cloud hosts our servers and their logs in Warsaw, Poland, in the European Union.
- Google Firebase processes analytics and crash reports, in the versions of the game that use it.
- Telegram delivers contact form messages to us.
- Google Play and the Apple App Store deliver the app; what they collect is covered by their own policies.
We share your data with no one else, unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Your account and progress: until you delete your account.
- Ghosts and battle records: 7 days.
- Game server logs: up to 400 days.
- Website logs: up to 30 days.
- Contact messages: up to one year.
Deleting your account
In the game, open Settings from the menu and tap Delete account. Your account, progress and ghosts are deleted from our server at once. If you can't open the game, ask us to delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it: contact us. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
The game is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections to our servers are encrypted, sign-in secrets are stored only as hashes, and only we can reach the servers.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
